The strip for a vertical strip curtain consists of at least two layers lying flatly one above the other of a relatively thin, preferably textile flat material, which layers are connected to one another along at least the two long edges of the strip, but not over the surface. This edge lamination can be of seamless integral design or in the form of a seam. The seam can be produced as a stitched seam, bonded seam or welded seam. The strip allows thinner flat material to be used than has been used previously. As a result, the availability of materials to produce such strips is improved.
