<p>The invention provides N-Phosphonomethylglycine derivatives of the general formula I

<Chemistry id="chema03" num="0003"><Image id="ia03" he="9" wi="28" file="IMGA0003.TIF" imgContent="chem" imgFormat="TIFF" inline="no" /></Chemistry>or an aryl, cycloalkyl or straight or branched chain alkyl or alkenyl group optionally substituted by hydroxy or halogen, or an alkylaryl group, provided that at least one but no more than two of R,, R<Sub>2</Sub> or R<Sub>3</Sub> are OR<Sub>4</Sub>; no more than two R<Sub>5</Sub>, R<Sub>5</Sub>, R<Sub>6</Sub>, R<Sub>6</Sub>, are aryl or substituted aryl; and no more than one of R<Sub>5</Sub>, R<Sub>5</Sub>., R<Sub>6</Sub>, R<Sub>6</Sub>, and R, is CH<Sub>2</Sub>OH. The invention also provides a process for preparing the above N-Phosphonomethylglycine imino urea salts as well as providing phytotoxic compositions containing the same.</p> |
