PURPOSE:To improve the stability during driving by resetting a microcomputer when a runaway of a program is detected and stopping an engine when the trouble of the execution of the program cannot be expected to be recovered even by that resetting. CONSTITUTION:When the processing operation of a microcomputer 10 is brought into a runaway state, the output of an information pulse PT is stopped or the frequency of the output is made very irregular. Consequently, a counter 36 is brought into an overflow state, and a single stable multivibrator 28 is triggerred to reset the microcomputer 10. When the processing operation of the program is returned to be normal, counters 36 and 37 are resetted by the information pulse PT thereafter. Meanwhile, when the runaway cannot be stopped even after the resetting, the counter 37 is not resetted, and the output of an AND gate circuit 39 is brought to an L-level. Then, a solenoid valve 4 to operate a control lever 8 of a fuel injection device is closed to stop an engine. |
