The assembly comprises a plurality of arcuate mounting members 21, 22 each including a central boss 23 having at least one radially extending recess 24 disposed in a radially inner surface (27, 34, Fig. 2 not shown) thereof which contains an elastomeric boot 39 for receiving an end 16 of one of the plurality of airfoils 14. The mounting member further includes integral first and second flanges 25, 26 (32, 33) extending circumferentially outwardly from opposite sides of the boss portion which overlap complementary second and first flanges, respectively, of adjacent mounting members. Fastening means 44 connect the first and second flanges of adjacent mounting members to form a continuous annular shroud. <IMAGE>
