<p>PURPOSE:To enable a heat engine to efficiently convert high-temperature energy such as solar energy into rotatory energy at low cost, by utilizing the adiabatic phase change from liquid to gas. CONSTITUTION:When a piston 2 has come near the bottom dead center, an appropriate quantity of water drops or steam is injected into a space 1a. Solar energy collected through heat pipes 15 is conducted together through a heat transfer member 10 to keep a heating chamber 11 at a temperature of about 180 deg.C or more to sharply evaporate the water in the space 1a. The piston 2a is pushed up by the expanding volume of the evaporated water and then moved down from the top dead center due to the inertia of a flywheel. At that time, an exhaust valve 8 is opened to drain the water vapor through an exhaust port 9. When the piston 2 has come near the bottom dead center again, the water is refed through the pipe 7 to cause the same action. Rotary power is obtained from a crankshaft 6.</p> |
