PURPOSE:To measure precisely the position and lineation of a conduit line independently of metallic pipe or nonmetallic pipe, by inserting a detector directly into a vacant conduit line and detecting and measuring the position and rolling variable between a front probe and a back probe. CONSTITUTION:An optical position detector 5 consisting of a two-dimensional PSD is arranged so that the center of the detector 5 coincides with the axial center of the back probe 2, and catches a light spot irradiated by a light emitting source 4 as photocurrent to detect the position. When the probes 1, 2 pass through the bending part of the conduit 9, the axial direction of the back probe 2 varies from the axis of the front probe 1 and the optical position detector 5 detects the variation. An operation processor 13 finds the positions of the probes 1, 2 to obtain the lineation of the travelling trace, i.e. the lineation of the conduit line. The length of the communication cable 7 inserted into the conduit line 9 is detected by a cable length measuring device 1. When the probes 1, 2 are rolled, the operation processor 13 compensates the operation from the rolling variable detected by a rotational angle detector 6. |
