NEW MATERIAL:Acromelic acid of the formula, its ester or salt. USE:A remedy for diseases relating to neurotransmitters including hereditary progressive jerks (Huntington), Parkinson's disease and other diseases. PREPARATION:For example, fruit bodies of DOKUSASAKO (Clitocybe acromelealga) are extracted with water and the extract is treated with acetone or alcohol to form a precipitate. Then, the hard-soluble product is subjected to dialysis and column chromatography with ethanol and further purified by means of chromatography or other processes to give acromelic acid. The product can be converted into its salts or esters. |
