<p>PURPOSE:To perform precise adaptive control by calculating a forward slip by known equations for calculating forward slips by using actual data, and calculating the thickness on the outlet side of an intermediate stand repeatedly until the errors from the previously estimated forward slip enter a certain range thereby determining the forward slip of good accuracy. CONSTITUTION:The thickness on the outlet side of an intermediate stand is estimated primarily, and the primarily estimated value of the thickness is substd. for known equations for calculating forward slips to determine a forward slip. The difference between said forward slip and the forward slip used in the primary estimation is investigated. If the value obtd. is not lower than the permissible value, the thickness is estimated secondarily from the known equations for culculating forward slips, and form the results thereof, the forward slip is calculated again. The estimation and calculation are repeated until the value attains the permissible value or below to improve the accuracy in the estimated values of the thicknesses on the outlet sides of the respective stands, whereby the accuracy in the calculated value of rolling load is improved and the more advanced adaptive control is accomplished.</p> |
