PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of variation in the performance of a dry cell by securing an excellently close contact between a carbon bar and a positive mixture by melting a wax into the positive mixture, and carrying out a compulsory cooling after that. CONSTITUTION:A wax layer is formed on at least a surface of a carbon bar 5 which faces a positive mixture 3. After the carbon bar 5 is pressed and fitted into the positive mixture 3, the carbon bar 5 is heated so as to melt the wax into the positive mixture 3. After that, in a compulsory cooling process, the wax melted in the positive mixture 3 is completely solidified, and the carbon bar 5 and the positive mixture 3 are firmly fixed together by the solidified wax so that any looseness is prevented from developing due to mechaical shocks given to the carbon bar 5 in the following process. In thus manufactured dry cell, even when a contact shift is caused between the carbon bar 5 and the positive mixture 3 during the time when a sealing plate and a positive terminal plate 8 are attached to the carbon bar 5, the close contact between the carbon bar 5 and the positive mixture 3 is not deteriorated. |
