PURPOSE:To reduce the generation of noise when a cylindrical battery is used for an audio equipment by constituting the battery by use of an exterior can made of a non-magnetic metal. CONSTITUTION:An exterior can 13 is made of an aluminum-magnesium alloy having a thickness of 0.25mm. (composition: 99.0wt% of aluminum and 0.8wt% of magnesium). The lower end of the can 13 is inwardly curled so as to make it in contact with an insulating ring 9, and the upper end of the can 13 is inwardly curled so as to make it in close contact with an insulating ring 12, thereby preventing any leakage of electrolyte and any air from flowing into the battery. As the electrolyte for such a battery, a zinc-chloride electrolyte is used. When such batteries which are constituted by using a non-magnetic metallic exterior can are used as a power source (8 such batteries are used) for a high-class radio cassette, generated noise is 0.5dB smaller than that generated when SUM-1 batteries, the same type as the battery of this invention, constituted by using an iron exterior can are used. |
