PURPOSE:To realize a joint intensity between a current-collecting body and lithium which is as complete as that obtained by soldering, even when the current-collecting body has a smooth surface, by making one of the dies to be at a temperature higher than the melting point of lithium, and making the other die to have a low temperature. CONSTITUTION:Lithium 2 used as a negative active material, is formed into a pellet having a given thickness and a given diameter beforehand. A high-temperature die 3 is heated to a temperature higher than 184 deg.C which is the melting point of lithium 2, for example, to 250 deg.C. A low-temperature die 4, which should have a temperature lower than the melting point of lithium 2, is made to be, for example, at the room temperature. After that, a force of around 10kg/cm<2> is applied to the dies 3 and 4 for about 5 seconds so as to make a negative lid 1 and lithium 2 to be firmly joined together. By the means mentioned above, the negative lid 1 melts a part of lithium 2 which touches the lid 1 due to heat which is transferred to the lid 1 from the high- temperature die 3, and lithium 2 adheres to the lid 1 in like a soldered state. Since the other surface of the lithium 2 touches the low-temperature die 4, there is no fear that the entire lithium 2 is melted and lithium 2 gets out of shape. Here, the dies 3 and 4 are preferred to be made of a metal such as iron, copper or a stainless steel. |
