PURPOSE:To obtain a sealed battery which has an excellent liquid-leakage resistance and a long working life by providing a flame-coating film made of an epoxy resin over the roughened surface of an electrode terminal, and packing a sealing agent between said flame-coating film and a battery case. CONSTITUTION:In order to increase the close contact between an epoxy-resin flame- coating film 7 and the surface of an electrode terminal 5, the surface of the electrode terminal 5 is roughened by sandblasting or etching performed with such as acid solution as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid or hydrofluoric acd. Practically, it is desirable that the roughness of the electrode terminal 5 is over 3mum for the standard length 0.8mm. according to the 10-point average roughness testing method designated in JISB0601. The epoxy-resin flame-coating film 7 is provided over the roughened surface 9 of the electrode terminal 5 by, for example, sending an epoxy-resin at high speed into a high- temperature flame of an oxygen-propane mixture gas or an oxygen-acetylene mixture gas before the epoxy-resin powder is sprayed on the roughened surface 9 of the electrode terminal 5. A sealing agent 8 packed between the flame-coating film 7 and a battery case 1, is appropriately selected according to the material of the battery case 1. As the sealing agent 8, an epoxy, polyurethane, vinyl chloride, resin or the like is employed. |
