PURPOSE:To obtain a good joint free from potential corrosion by fitting a contraction ring having bisected grip ring to the joint of thin metallic pipe in which the thin metallic pipe to be joined is inserted into an expanded pipe end. CONSTITUTION:A specified length of the pipe end of a thin metallic material having the same diameter and made of the same material with a thin metallic pipe 1 to be joined is expanded to make the inner diameter much larger than the outer diameter of the metallic pipe 1. The metallic pipe 1 to which a contraction ring having a truncated conical part on inner peripheral face is loosely fitted is inserted into the expanded part of the body 2 of bayonet type pipe joint. Then, expanded part 2a is held by a bisected grip ring 4, and the ring 4 is fixed by a V-shaped fixing claw 5b of a pressing tool 5. The ring 4 is pressed by the claw 5b, and the metallic pipe 1 and the body 2 of the joint are brought into close contact. |
