PURPOSE:To effectively utilize unburnt recovery exhaust gas, by a method wherein electric power is generated by driving a steam turbine with the steam obtained from the waste heat and with the steam obtained by cooling metallurgical furnace gas when electric power is generated by driving a gas turbine by the combustion of the unburnt recovery gas of metallurgical furnace. CONSTITUTION:Unburnt gas intermittently generated in a metallurgical furnace, CO gas is cooled, being recovered and stored in a gas holder 9 after its dust is screened with primary and secondary dust collectors 4, 5. Then, after screening the dust 10 of recovered gas in the holder 9, the gas is compressed 11 and transferred to a combustor 12, being burnt with compressed air 13. Thereafter, the gas turbine 14 is drived with this combustion gas, and further a gas turbine 15 of middle pressure is driven by transferring the exhaust gas to it, electric power being generated by transmitting that driving force to a generator 17 via a reduction gear 16. On the other hand, the steam turbine 19 is driven by transmitting the steam intermittently generated in a cooler 3 to the steam turbine through a drum 18. Therefore, the energy of the recovered unburnt gas is efficiently effectively utilized, and the energy come from the gas cooler is directly effectively utilized at the same time, the recovery and utilization effectiveness of metallurigcal furnace exhaust gas are improved. |
