After direct transplantation of human cells into the another warm-blooded animal or by implantation of the cells in a diffusion chamber, type II interferon was prepared. In this way, large amounts of interferon was produced. Thus, human BALL-1 cells were transplanted s.c into nude mice. The resultant massive tumors were isolated and the cell incubated in Eagle's medium. Small amounts of partly purified interferon with high human specificity was added, followed by phytohemagglutinin to induce interferon formation. After incubation for 3 days, centrifugation, and dialysis, the interferon was collected on a filter membrane and dried.
