PURPOSE:To obtain a highly reliable measuring apparatus with a reduced number of optical parts by employing a polarized beam splitter made of an oxide crystal, a semiconductor or the like having a Rockel's effect as base material for a polaroid element, a light detecting element and a Pockel's element. CONSTITUTION:An incident light of a light transmitter 1 is introduced to a light voltage 1 electric field sensor 3 with an optical fiber 2, converted into a parallel beam with a microlens 4 and polarized in linearity with a multilayer film 16 of the polarized beam spliter 12 propagating through spliters 12 and 12' and a wavelength plate 6. As the spliters 12 and 12' are composed of material having a Pockels effect, the linear polarized wave undergoes a phase modulation with a voltage applied between electrodes 11 and 11'. When a wavelength plate is inserted between the spliters 12 and 12' here, this wave is converted into an oval polarized wave, then, translated into the intensity of light with a multi-layer film 16' and received with a light receiver 10 to be converted into electricity passing through a microlens 4' and an optical fiber 2'. From the output signal of the device 10, the voltage to be measured can be determined.
|
