A physiologically acceptable mouthwash composition consisting of a sodium rinoleate mixture which is in the main free of turbidity and precipitation and which contains 10-25 percent by volume of alcohol, 5-15 percent by volume of sorbitol, 0.5-2.5 percent by weight/volume of surface-active agent, 0.25-1% by weight/volume of sodium chloride, 0.05-0.2% by weight/volume of insoluble saccharine, 0.01-0.25% by weight/volume of flavourings and 0.1-2% by weight/volume of sodium ricinoleate, with the remainder being water, and with the flavourings consisting of menthol, thymol, eucalyptol and anethol, or mixtures thereof with peppermint oil. |
