PURPOSE:To reproduce information, by forming a recording layer which is variable with light energy on one surface of a plate made of copolymeric polyester resin of ethylene terephthalate, forming a metallic coating layer thereupon, and irradiating the opposite side with a laser beam. CONSTITUTION:The substrate 3 in use is optically transparent and made of copolymeric polyester resin which consists of ethylene terephthlate as a principal repetitive unit and has >0.4 inherent viscosity. On the formation surface side of this substrate 3 for information bits 4, the metallic coating layer 5 is formed and its surface is coated with resin consisting of, for example, 40pts.wt. methyl methacrylate, 5pts.wt. methy acrylate, 15pts.wt. ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, 40pts.wt. trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate, and 0.1pts.wt. benzoin ethyle ther; and the resin is cross-linked by being irradiated with ultraviolet rays for about 20min to form a reverse protective layer 6 with about 15mum thickness.
