PURPOSE:To accelerate flash evaporation with good efficiency in a multistage flash evaporator by providing a flash box having plural openings differing in distances from partition walls. CONSTITUTION:The brine flowing from an evaporation chamber in the fore stage into an evaporation chamber 21b in the lower step under the pressure lower than the pressure therein past the orifice slit in the lower part of a partition wall 22 is flowed out through a flash box 24. The brine flowing out through the opening part 25b in the position L2 overflows from the upper part of the brine flowing out through the opening part 25a in the position L1. Vortexes are generated by the ruggedness occuring in the box 24, by which the liquid is agitated and mixed suitably. As a result, the liquid surfaces are renewed and the flash evaporation is accelerated. The unevaporated brine flows out successively into the next stages. |
