PURPOSE:To provide a copyed picture which is easy to see and is perfectly fixed, by a method wherein the surface of the support of a heat-sensitive copying medium containing a heat-sensitive diazo compound and a coupler and having a heating developing layer formed thereon is closely contacted to an original, and a picture is irradiated with infrared light. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive copying medium 1' with a thickness of 50mum or less is formed such that a diazo series heat-sensitive developing layer 12, which obtains in an independent phase state a heat-sensitive diazo compound and a coupler as a heating coloring component and a heat fusible material with a melting point of 50-150 deg.C as an auxiliary developing agent and can develop into a developing concentration of not less than 0.9 by means of energy of not more than 1.2 millijoule, is formed on (an opaque or) a transparent support 11. The support 11 surface of the heat-sensitive copying medium 1' is closely contacted to an original 2, and the work is irradiated from the side of the heat-sensitive copying medium 1' with infrared light from an infrared lamp. This heats a picture part 21 of the original 2, transfers the heat from the support 11 to a heat- sensitive developing layer 12', and reacts a diazo compound with a coupling component to form a copying picture 21'. |
