PURPOSE:To impart an overload preventive function to a fluid coupling, by providing a pressing force generating mechanism, in which driven discs are pressed in the axial direction by centrifugal force, and decreasing a change of transmission torque due to a change of temperature and a shock at starting. CONSTITUTION:When an output shaft of a driving power source is rotated, an input side boss 2 and driving discs 3 are rotated altogether. If the output shaft increases its rotary speed, revolution is transmitted to driven discs 4 through silicone oil to cause the whole unit of a casing 1 to begin rotating, and steel balls 5 are moved in the radial direction by centrifugal force to press the discs 4. When an output side boss 14 is locked, the centrifugal force applied to the steel balls 5 also disappears to spread a distance between the discs 3 and 4 to the gap at stationary time never apply an overload to the driving power source. |
