PURPOSE:To very easily further correctly detect a slip condition of a clutch, by detecting a vibrative change of quantity of received light, in which light of a projector unit is permeated through or reflected by friction plates in input and output sides, through a detector. CONSTITUTION:When a slip is caused in a clutch, a friction plate 9 in the output side is rotated at a slightly slower speed than a friction plate 4 in the input side, and a slit (8a) gradually increases its alignment area for a slit (20a) to successively gradually decrease the alignment area to no alignment state and gradually increase the alignment area. As a result, a quantity of light returning from a projector unit 18 to a light receiving unit 19 is gradually decreased and successively gradually increased again gradually decreased thus vibratively changed, and a current generated by the unit 19 becomes an oscillating current. This current is detected to operate an alarm device. |
