PURPOSE:To sufficiently absorb the vibrations of an engine, by a method wherein a retainer fixed to a propelling unit and a retainer fixed to a swivel bracket are placed oppositely to each other with a vertical spacing therebetween, and a shock-absorbing member is intermediately placed between the retainers. CONSTITUTION:The propelling unit 18 is connected through an upper part supporting means 16 to a steering shaft 15 rotatably supported by the swivel bracket 14. The upper part supporting means 16 consists of an upper retainer 23 which is fixed to a flange part 22 formed at an upper part of the shaft 15 and a lower retainer 26 which is fixed to a supporting part formed at the inside surface of the propelling unit 18, which retainers 23, 26 are placed oppositely to each other with a vertical spacing therebetween, and the shock-absorbing member 28 is intermediately provided between the retainers. The shock-absorbing member 28 undergoes a shear deformation in response to relative displacements of the retainers 23, 26 in the propelling direction and a steering direction. |
