NEW MATERIAL:Menaquinone MA-27 of the formula. USE:A drug with vitamin K and blood-coagulating activities: it has a thiomethyl group in the C-2 position of the naphthoquinone ring instead of a methyl group as well as the two terminals of the isoprenoid side chain are saturated. PREPARATION:A strain capable of accumulating MA-27 in its cell bodies, i.e., TK-6 strain (FERM-P6435), is cultured and the cell bodies are collected, after cultivation, and MA-27 is collected by separating it from the cell bodies. |
