摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to activate electrodes of various lamps different in type and rating, by impressing a voltage, whose continuity angle is controlled by a current phase control unit, on both ends of a filament, while decomposing and activating alkaline earth metallic carbonate by means of glow discharge heat produced between both said ends. CONSTITUTION:A current phase control unit 5 is one composed by connecting the output terminal of an RC delay circuit to the gate terminal of a switching element S and so designed as to cause an electric current to run through only within the range of a continuity angle dependent upon characteristics of the RC delay circuit. A lead wire 9 supporting an electrode filament 8 in a lamp 7 is connected to an output terminal 6 of the control unit and thereby R of the control unit 5 is adjusted in accord with the lamp rating. The voltage controlled in its continuity angle is impressed on both ends of the filament 8, producing glow discharge between both said ends, and with this produced heat, clad alkaline earth metallic carbonate is, in this method, so designed as to be composed and activated. In this process, activation of various discharge lamps different in type and rating can be easily carried out.
