PURPOSE:To connect the standard facsimile device to a data network, by providing a corresponding section of the data communication procedure and a data communication procedure for data network, to the standard facsimile device for telephone network and providing a control section controlling and processing them. CONSTITUTION:In the transmission to a data network 20 from the standard facsimile device 10 through a data line 30, when a transmitted address is dialed on a panel 48, a microprocessor 41 executes a well-known packet controlling procedure via a line controlling circuit 43, an MODEM44 and the line 30, and when the linkage with the remote terminal is established, the device 10 is started, the processor 41 executes the standard facsimile communication procedure and stores picture data in a memory 42 via a network controlling circuit 45 and an MODEM46. The processor 41 assembles the data in the memory 43 into a packet of a prescribed length and makes transmission to the data network 20 via the line controlling circuit 43 and the MODEM44. In receivig the facsimile picture data from the data line 30, the procedures is performed in the reversing steps as the case with the transmission. |
