PURPOSE:To provide the titled adhesive having improved water resistance without lowering the original high adhesivity and cohesive force, by the radical polymerization of a monomer mixture capable of forming a pressure-sensitive adhesive, in the presence of fine particles of crosslinked polymer emulsion having specific particle diameter. CONSTITUTION:The objective adhesive is prepared by the radical polymerization of (A) a monomer mixture capable of forming a pressure-sensitive adhesive by polymerization and composed mainly of a 1-10C alkyl (meth)acrylate and a vinyl monomer copolymerizable therewith, in the presence of a polymer emulsion composed of crosslinked fine particles having particle diameter of 250-850Angstrom and obtained by the emulsion polymerization of (i) a mixture of (a) 100pts.wt. of a monomer having one ethylenic unsaturated bond (preferably 1-10C alkyl acrylate, etc.) and (b) 5-40pts.wt. of a copolymerizable polyfunctional monomer (preferably a polyacrylate of a polyhydric alcohol, etc.) in (ii) an aqueous medium containing 2-20pts.wt. of an emulsifier and 0.5-5pts.wt. of a polymerization initiator based on 100pts.wt. of the mixture (i). |
