PURPOSE:To remove jammed paper easily without damaging a photoreceptor, by stopping the driving of the photoreceptor in accordance with the detection signal of a sensor for jam of the photoreceptor and delivering the end of transfer paper then stopping the driving of feed rolls. CONSTITUTION:When resist rolls 3 for paper feeding are driven, a sensor 12 for the jam of a photoreceptor starts counting of the timings. When transfer paper P fails to arrive at the position of the sensor 12 after a prescribed time, a jam signal is emitted and the driving of the the photoreceptor 4 is stopped. If the paper P is still nipped by the rolls 3 in this stage, the rolls 3 are driven until the paper P is delivered out completely; therefore, the jammed paper can be removed without tearing off by the rolls 3 which still nip the paper. A photoreceptor unit 10 independent from the rolls 3 is pulled out and the jammed paper is pulled out as well. In this stage, the jammed paper is removed easily if a knob 14 is turned and the damaging of the surface of the photoreceptor 4 is obviated. |
