PURPOSE:To improve processing ability, by providing a communication controller transmitting a packet split into a header and a data section, as a preprocessing device of an on-line data processor. CONSTITUTION:When a packet is transmitted from a digital data communication network 1 via a digital transmission line 2, a communication controller 3 receives and stores the packet, the length of the packet is calculated and recorded, and after the end of reception of the packet, the reception of packet is reported to a packet processing controller 6. When the processor 6 determines the header length, a packet processing area 5 is once relieved and a part of the area 5 corresponding to the length subtracting the header length from the packet entire length is ensured, the header length is designated to the device 3 and a data transfer instruction is transmitted. When the device receives the data transfer instruction, the part of the header length is eliminated and only the data part is transferred to the packet processing area 5. |
