The invention relates to a filable, novel rapid binder according to Fig. 1, consisting of two binding strips which are connected to each other by a flexible spine and two rotatable spikes, each of which ends in a tab. The pre-perforated documents which are to be bound are received by the two profiled spikes which are rotatably mounted in the lower binder strip. The tabs of the two spikes are each rotatable through 135 DEG in the plane of the binder strip, relative to each other, and can be locked in three specific positions as a result of interaction between the profile of the spike and a correspondingly shaped perforation in the binder strips. With tabs pivoted through 90 DEG relative to the spine of the binder, the binder can be filed as a whole; with 135 DEG relative tab rotation it can be opened; with the tabs pivoted in, the binder forms a self-contained, easily mailable unit with an attractive visual appearance. <IMAGE>
