The invention can be used for removing loose or loosely adhering scale on the surface and/or from cavities of round hollow bars. The aim of the invention is to reduce the outlay on repair and maintenance. The object of the invention is to eliminate the disadvantages of the nearest-related prior art by eliminating the complicated tipping mechanisms in three planes and altering the transmission of motion. A descaling pocket (6) is installed between a feed grating (1) and a delivery grating (2). The descaling pocket (6) comprises two walls (13) arranged transversely to the rolling direction and a descaling-pocket bottom (14) inclined in the direction of operation. In the descaling pocket (6) there is a lifting lever (7) with a fulcrum (16) outside the descaling pocket (6). The lifting lever (7) has a roll-off slope (8) and a stop (9).
