The invention relates to a screwing head having a device for automatically uncoupling the screwdriver (18) when a given screw-in depth has been reached, in which position a rim (R and R'), surrounding the screwdriver (18), is placed onto the component receiving the screw (19) and, by longitudinal displacement of a coupling sleeve (10) counter to spring action, uncouples a coupling between a clamping sleeve (2) and the screwdriver held exchangeably in a central receptacle (17), and proposes, to facilitate exchange of screwdriver (18), along with improved guidance and reduced wear, to arrange the central receptacle (17) in a sleeve (8) mounted relative to the clamping sleeve (2) and capable of being uncoupled from the latter, relative to which sleeve (8) is seated an actuating sleeve (29) which forms an annular portion (30) lying in front of the front rim (10') of the coupling sleeve (10), forms the rim (R) with its lower free end and is displaceable, counter to spring action, from its stop position relative to the coupling sleeve (10) into the screw-in direction, in which displaced position it releases clamping members (21, 28) for securing the screwdriver (18). <IMAGE>
