A circuit for measuring direct currents is proposed which has a very low internal resistance and thus produces only a small voltage drop in the measuring circuit. The measuring method is based on passing the current to be measured through a storage ring core and compensating for the asymmetry resulting from this by the periodic remagnetisation of the core, by means of a second current which can be measured in a simple manner.
