The invention relates to a device which is intended for loading and unloading two or more drums which are attached to a drum support. The two (or more) drums are preferably attached one above the other to said drum support and travel with the latter, without being separated therefrom, for example through an automatic electroplating bath. When the drum support arrives at the loading or unloading station of the automatic electroplating bath, the two or more drums attached to the drum support are loaded or unloaded simultaneously by the novel device. The mass-produced parts in the drums are discharged during unloading into rotatable chutes of adjustable height or are poured during loading from said chutes simultaneously into the drums attached to the drum support. The invention may be used either in plants intended for electroplating purposes or in plants intended for the chemical surface treatment of mass-produced parts in drums (for example for phosphatising or pickling).
