PURPOSE:To maintain a sealing function even if the body or port of a tilting furnace deforms, by closing the port of the tilting furnace hermetically by combining primary water sealing means and secondary water sealing means. CONSTITUTION:While a furnace body 1 is held in a regular position, a vertically moving cylinder 7 is extended to seat a skirt material 8 on a port 5. With the water sealing cylinder 6c in a hood part 6b kept held in the sealing water in a water sealing tank 8b of the member 8, the water sealing cylinder 8e of the member 8 is inserted into the water sealing tank 1a attached to the furnace body. The water in a water storage tank 16 is supplied via valves 17, 18 into the tank 1a by a pump 15, and the port 5 is termetically closed double by the tanks 8b, 1a. To tilt the both 1, first the water in the tank 1a is discharged via valves 19, 20 with the pump 15 into the tank 16, and a quick joint 12 is disconnected. The cylinder 7 is then shrank to move the member 8 to the standby position over the port 5. |
