PURPOSE:To prevent generation of an ineffective cycle, by deciding a signal group for controlling a state transition of pipeline processing, by a look-ahead method. CONSTITUTION:In each pipeline unit of a data processing device 200, an instruction fetch unit 205 sends out an address of an instruction to a high speed buffer unit memory 203 through a signal line 218, and receives a read-out instruction word through a signal line 219. To put it concretely, in each pipeline unit of the data processing device 200, an instruction buffer is provided in the instruction fetch unit 205, and by a state of this buffer, operation of the unit 205 is decided. Accordingly, it can be operated almost indepently without depending on a state of other unit, therefore, as for the unit 205, a signal showing an operating state of other unit is unnecessary. |
