The child-proof safety closure made of plastic for bottle-like containers consists of an outer cap (8) and of an inner cap (9), located therein, in the bottom region of which are arranged mutually confronting resilient bosses which can be brought into and out of engagement during a relative axial displacement of the outer cap (8) in relation to the inner cap (9). Engagement takes place in that the bosses of one cap part (9) each have a vertical front edge (19), a plane upper portion (20) and an oblique edge (21), whilst the bosses of the other cap part (8) which are complementary with them are made approximately cuboid and correspond in their length approximately to the distance between the front edge (19) of one boss (18) and the rear edge (27) of the oblique edge (21) of an adjacent boss (18), further bosses (25, 26) formed on or out in the casing of the outer cap (8) being provided as spring means. <IMAGE>
