The equivalent circuit contains an operating path leading from the operating route input (BE) to the output (A), and an equivalent path leading from the equivalent route input (EE) also to the output (A). A fixed delay device (VZ) is disposed in the operating path for course compensation of transit time differences and a buffer memory (P) is disposed in the equivalent path for automatic fine compensation, which is read out by means of an internal timing oscillator (O). Changeover from one route to the other is performed by means of a comparator (VB) via a changeover switch (U1). The internal timing oscillator (O) is synchronised with the operating signal or the equivalent signal by means of a synchronisation device which controls the changeover switch (U2). <IMAGE>
