In order to empty a domestic refuse bin into a dustbin, two hands are needed. To enable the dustbin lid to be opened without manual contact, a design has been created which makes it possible to open the lid by actuating a lifting hoop with the foot so that the domestic bin can be thoroughly emptied with both hands. When the foot is removed, the lid closes automatically. The structure is placed on or removed from the dustbin with no modification to the latter.
