The invention relates to an easily mountable and demountable knob for fastenings or locks, the knob having a carrier part which engages through a passage bore of a wall and which possesses, for example on the inner face, a central blind bore, into which engages an adjusting part which presses radially arranged locking parts outwards counter to the resilient restoring force of a spring element and thereby locks the knob, for example against a rose. The cross-section of the carrier part is scarcely weakened at all thereby. The invention is especially suitable for mounting decoratively designed knobs in standard passage bores of a diameter of, for example, 18 millimetres. The carrier part can itself serve as a lock cylinder and, moreover, be used for the direct mounting and fastening of a handle, the carrier part and handle concealing fastening screws externally.
