A stamping powder for the production of articles subject to corrosion and/or wear, particularly dies of stamping tools contains at least 70% of aluminium oxide, the total amount of impurities present in the stamping powder being up to 0.4 % of the aluminium oxide content, of which the individual amounts of silicon dioxide and iron oxide are up to 0.05 % of the aluminium oxide content and the total amount of potassium oxide and sodium oxide is up to 0.05 % of the aluminum oxide content, and the average particle size of the stamping powder being up to 3 microns.
