A disposable flow system (30) is disclosed for use in conjunction with a hollow fiber membrane plasmapheresis apparatus (20) having first and second pressure-to-frequency transducer circuits (34 and 101) for developing, as part of a transmembrane pressure monitoring system within the apparatus, a digital readout of transmembrane pressure. One or more microporous filter elements (200, 201, 202 and 203) are incorporated integrally with the flow system (30) and in the inlet port of each transducer (107, 125) in order to isolate bacteria within tne flow system (30), to prevent contamination of the transcucers, and to provide a time constant for each transducer which prevents transient flow variations in the system from causing erroneous transmembrane pressure readings.
