PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a pseudo coincidence signal and to focus on even a dark object automatically, by photodetecting the reflected light of rectangular luminous flux only by the object through a split image, and controlling a photographic optical system. CONSTITUTION:The thin rectangular luminous flux generated through an intense LEDP under pulse control, a lens L2, etc., is projected and the light reflected by only the object 0 which is separated from other unnecessary light is photodetected by photodetecting element arrays 1 and 1' through a photographic lens L1, a split image S, etc., to form an image. Consequently, a position shift due to the front focus or rear focus of those arrays 1 and 1' is eliminated to obtain vertical coincidence and the movement of the lens L1 is controlled by a signal detecting circuit 3, a motor driving circuit 4, etc., so that the peak of an image formation pulse is increased, thus performing automatic focusing. This vertical image coincidence system which does not use any unnecessary light prevents the generation of a pseudo coincidence signal and focuses on even a dark object accurately and automatically. |
