This invention concerns a method of reinforcing existing foundation walls, such as dray walling for stone houses using sectional piles inserted through holes in the foundation wall construction and beams laid/cast on these. The purpose is to carry out this reinforcement work without needing to expose the dry wall or implementing other excavations and without having to take measures in the cellar premises where activities can continue uninterrupted. Piling may not give rise to any displacement of mass and vibrations to any large extent. This problem has been resolved by making holes in the wall above the foundation wall. These holes are large enough to afford space for a drill and impact machine so that vertical hole may be drilled in any remaining walls, foundation wall and fascine work through which sectional piles can be sunk down to the earth strata. Adjacent to the openings, primarily horizontal recesses are made in which beams are placed. These are securely joined to the piles after which the beams and the tops of the piles are embedded and the openings in the walls refilled.<IMAGE> |
