PURPOSE:To make it possible to restore catalytic capacity according to a simple method, by simultaneously injecting a gas and a powder from a soot blow nozzle provided in opposed relation to the end surfaces of the gas passages of a catalyst to farcedly abrade the surface of the catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Soot blow nozzles 6 are provided so as to be confronted with the gas inlet surface of, for example, a denitration catalyst layer 1 comprising a parallel flow type catalyst having gas passages with predetermined cross area shapes and a powder supply line 4 is provided on the way of the arranged pipe 3 of a soot blowing gas (e.g., air) provided to the outside system of the nitration catalyst layer 1. The gas and the powder are simultaneously injected from the nozzles 6 under a predetermined condition to forcedly abrade the surface part of the above mentioned catalyst in a definite thickness and the clogging part and the poisoning substance accumulated part of the catalyst are removed to restore the capacity of the catalyst. |
