PURPOSE:To facilitate the detection of flaws without requiring any space on the circumference thereof by detecting flaws from the inner surface of a steel pipe with a probe inserted thereinto as suported on a steel pipe flange in such a manner to be free to turn in the axial and circumferential directions of the steel tube. CONSTITUTION:This apparatus comprises a supporting body 13 having a section 12 to be engaged with an anguar section 11 inside a flange seat surface S with a diameter smaller than the outer diameter of a steel pipe flange F, a magnet 14 mounted on the supporting body 13 movably in the axial direction of a steel pipe P and to be attracted to the flange seat surface S, a driving shaft 15 mounted running through the center of the supporting body 13 so as for the tip 15A thereof to be positioned in the steel pipe P and supported movably in the axial direction and a rotation driving source 16 for rotating the driving shaft 15. It is also provided with a movement driving source 17 for moving the driving shaft 15 in the axial direction, a support rod 18 mounted at the tip 15A of the driving shaft 15 in such a manner as to be free to move at the right angle to the axis of the steel pipe P and a probe 19 mounted at the tip thereof 18. |
