PURPOSE:To perform not only the normal compensation of gradation but to have different gradation converting characteristics in terms of space, by using a microcomputer and storing a data table to give a prescribed conversion of gradation to an RAM. CONSTITUTION:The red, green and blue color signals are generated by image pickup elements 1, 2 and 3 like CCDs, etc., and these output signals are sampled through sample holding circuits 4, 5 and 6. These sampled signals are supplied to A/D converters 7, 8 and 9 to obtain digital color signals DR, DG and DB respectively. Then these color signals are supplied to a processor 10. The processor 10 consists of a memory and a microcomputer and performs not only a normal conversion of gradation like a gamma compensation, etc. but an operation to have different gradation converting characteristics in terms of space by means of a look-up table that is stored in the memory. The output signals Dr, Dg and Db of the processor 10 are converted by a color encoder 11 to obtain color video signals. |
