NEW MATERIAL:An oxadiazolinone derivative shown by the formulaI(R1 and R2 are H or CH3; R3 is 1-3C alkyl; X is O or CH2). EXAMPLE:3-(2,2-Dimethylcoumaron-8-yl)-5-methoxy-1,3,4-oxadiazolin-2-one. USE:An insecticide and an acaricide having extremely wider insecticidal spectrum than a well-known oxadiazoline derivative. PROCESS:Phosgene is reacted with a hydrazinocarboxylate derivative shown by the formula II to give a 2-chlorocarbonylhydrazinocarboxylate derivative shown by the formula III, which is subjected to ring formation in the presence of a base, to give a compound shown by the formulaI. The compound shown by the formula II is obtained by reacting a chloroformate shown by the formula IV with a hydrazine derivative shown by the formula V.
