PURPOSE:To prevent metals from directly contacting each other and restrict the generation of high-frequency noises, by a method wherein a sintered seal member is composed of 92-98wt% of a stainless steel powder and 2-8wt% of a graphite powder, and a silicon resin is infiltrated into at least 20% of pores. CONSTITUTION:Since a silicon resin is infiltrated into at least 20% of pores in the sintered seal member A, the synergistic effect of the resin and graphite (which is a constituent of the seal member A) ensures that the surface of the seal member A is rich in non-metallic substances and lubricating property. Therefore, even when an exhaust pipe 1 on the engine side is vibrated in response to vibration of the engine, the seal member A makes sliding contact with each of exhaust pipes 1, 3. Accordingly, the generation of unpleasant high-frequency noises due to sliding contact between metals encountered in a conventional construction is prevented, and it can be contrive to reduced noise. |
