The invention relates to a supporting element 7 for pieces of furniture, especially shelving units, in which the supporting element supports a horizontal part 4 with respect to a vertical part 2. The supporting element 7 has a central section 9 from whose ends 15 the lateral parts 8 project in the same direction. The lateral parts are so designed that their free outer end carries hook- like external parts 11, suitable for insertion in a pair of holes 5 in the vertical part 2. According to the invention, each lateral part 8 has, in addition to the external part 22, also a central part 12 that supports it, and a third part situated between the central part and the central section 9 of the supporting element. The central part 12 and the third part 13 are separated from each other by a supporting elbow (at 12), bent to the same side as the external part 11. The three parts are situated in the same vertical plane. Finally, the measurements and internal angles of the parts are so adapted that, when the lateral part 8 of the supporting element is inserted in a hole 5, the top of the hook- shaped external part 11 hooks and snaps in the inside of the hole as soon as the lateral part is subjected to a tension, caused by the incipient straightening of the supporting elbow (at 12). <IMAGE> |
